Supergraphique chronicles the relationship between design and our everyday experiences of the world.
Collected here are design stories – observations, discussions and projects – that explore the numerous ways we encounter the material realm. These stories convey ways of thinking about our engagements with buildings, objects and places, and the creative practices that make these things. Recurring plots involve the exchange between digital production and craft, the ordinary and the extra-ordinary, utility and amusement, and the cultural distinctions of high, middle, and low.
Each story reveals an evolving interest in slackened boundaries, overlaps and in-betweens; it is these conditions that define the intersection of the messiness of reality with the abstraction of design.
